  • Verified complaint, removed drive belt, allowed vehicle to cool completely and retested. Found metal tapping noise coming from timing chain, possibly camshaft adjusters or chain tensioner. Advise customer to monitor and wait for conditions to worsen (noise to increase in volume or frequency) and then reexamine.
  • Road tested and verified complaint, found self-canceling not happening at full turn. Advise customer to wait and replace turn signal assembly once turn signals become inop.

  • Removed and replaced wiper blades at no labor cost (parts only) to customer.
  • Verified complaint, cleaned engine bay and found oil leaking from oil cooler located on top of engine and rear main engine seal. Advised customer and authorized repair. Drained engine oil and coolant. Removed intake tubing and manifold, turbo piping and surrounding parts to gain access and remove oil cooler. Cleaned surrounding areas with cleaner and compressed air. Reassembled engine components, added engine oil and coolant and bleed cooling system. Road tested, checked for leaks. Further advised customer some residual oil might be seen leaking from bottom of engine due to oil getting into bell housing at top of engine.
  • Advised customer and authorized repair. Remove wheels, unbolt caliper, remove and replace brake pads and sensor. Clean friction surfaces, lubricate metal-to-metal contact surfaces and reassembled. Road tested, no squeak at the time of vehicle completion. NOTE: Customer aware of potential brake squeak when brake rotors are not changed at the same time as brake pads.

Contacted customer and authorized additional authorization for drive belt and additional difference. Released belt tension, disconnected and replaced both idler pullies and belt tensioner. Reassembled, road tested, OK now.

Checked engine production, out of range for balance shaft bulletin. Called, advised customer and authorized replacement of all 4 camshaft solenoids on 8/2/2018 for $635 at phone # 650-279-7966. Disconnected wiring harnesses, removed and replaced all 4 cam solenoids. Cleared check engine light and road tested, OK now.
  • Called, advised customer and authorized replacement of both front-lower thrust arms and all necessary repairs on 8/2/2018 for $1265 at phone # 650-279-7966. Removed steering knuckle, disconnected and replaced both thrust arms. Reassembled, installed camber bolts, road tested, sent to alignment.
  • Sent vehicle out to MPG Auto Service for vehicle alignment
  • Called, advised customer and authorized replacement of all 3 PCV Covers on 8/2/2018 for $395 at phone # 650-279-7966. Cleaned surrounding area, removed PCV Cam Cover, Large Cover, and smaller cover. Road tested, checked for leaks, OK now.
  • Called, advised customer and authorized replacement of vacuum pump on 8/2/2018 for $695 at phone # 650-279-796. Removed mass airflow meter and replaced vacuum pump, cleaned surrounding areas and road tested. No leaks at this time.
  • Front tires set to 32 PSI, rear tires set to 34 PSI.
